Next Speaker: And Attorney Karl Truman can tell you what to expect he still authored two books including What Your Insurance Company Doesn't Want You To Know Until It's Too Late and you're gonna offer a little bit of info on that coming up and will be recurring back here Great Day Live so you're a local guy. Tell us more about you.

Next Speaker: Yeah, I'm really excited about, uh, being a regular on your show every week and, uh, really lookin' forward to that and talk about different law topics and, and my practice which being, uh, uh, field of personal injury in all types of areas whether it's personal injury, workers' compensation, uh, Social Security disability, Veterans Administration disability, uh, all types of injury claims, uh, that lookin' forward to talk about over time.

Next Speaker: I have two questions for you. First off, who, which of your relatives works for the phone company? How'd you get that phone number? It's all twos isn't it?

Next Speaker: Uh, 222-2222.

Next Speaker: Hey, it’s easy to remember!

Next Speaker: Pretty strong right there.

Next Speaker: Uh, you, you, uh, have military service, military background too?

Next Speaker: Yes, I, it's, one of the things that, it, uh, you know there are two careers that I always really wanted to do is military and be an attorney because my father was an attorney and, and he also worked for the military in civil service. Uh, and I was really fortunate 'cause I've been able to do both, uh, you know, being, uh, I went through Army ROTC, uh, I grew up in Taylorsville, Kentucky. Uh, my wife and I went to high school together in Taylorsville, Kentucky.

Next Speaker: High school sweethearts.

Next Speaker: That helps give some insight into handling cases for military folks, as well.

Next Speaker: Ab, absolutely and there's a lot of aspects to that so, you know, I was able to, I went to, got my bachelor's degree at the University of Kentucky and went through Army ROTC there and was commissioned as a second lieutenant and, uh, and then was able to go to law school here, right here in the University of Louisville and, uh, so I, I, I spent 28 years in the United States Army Reserve and retired as a lieutenant colonel and a lot of people just assume well I was a lawyer I must've been a lawyer in the army. Well actually I was an armor officer in tanks and did a lot of, uh, you know, the field training and that type of thing with the tanks.

Next Speaker: I can't believe you can hear us.

Next Speaker: What?

Next Speaker: And VA benefits, uh, one of the areas that you specialize in that you just mentioned.

Next Speaker: But the bar doesn't allow us to say the word specialized, so I, you know, there's, there's a couple of words that the bar does not let us use in advertising whether it's calling us ourselves expert or specialist. Um, although I do have a particular specialty area, a credential that used the word specialist and was board certified, uh, civil trial advocate or also board, board certified is still a trial specialist although the bar also requires that if you say it you have to say Kentucky does not recognize specialties. But it was a very intense process to go through that but, uh, but I do, my practice focus is on the areas of all types of personal injury.

Next Speaker: All right. Well there are things the insurance company doesn't want us to know, apparently.

Next Speaker: Well there's a, there is a book that I co-authored with some other attorneys, and it's called Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, uh, what your insurance company doesn't want you to know until it's too late. It talks about a lot of the, the, uh, nuances of, uh, insurance and, you know, one of the aspects that a lot of people don't realize is, you know, of course I practice both sides of the river, uh, I have offices both in Indiana and Kentucky, and I'm licensed to practice law both in Indiana and Kentucky, and, uh, one of the things, uh, that it talks about in the book is in Indiana that, uh, if you have underinsured motorist coverage the math really doesn't add up, and you have to read the book to find out what that means.

Next Speaker: Okay. Well we're gonna press you in future episodes here on, on some other issues, and we appreciate the start here. Good to have you on the team.

Next Speaker: Thank you Karl.

Next Speaker: Lookin' forward to it.
