James King

James King is a veteran who spends his days getting other veterans what they earned.

Fourteen years in July at the Karl Truman Law Office, with over ten years working VA claims specifically. He is retired from the U.S. Army after just over 20 years of service. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates.

Ask him what he brings to a claim and he says research. Ask him why veterans trust him and he says something shorter: he has been there, done that, and got the t-shirt.

Before joining the firm in 2012, James was a Maintenance Instructor at Fort Knox and then a student at the University of Louisville. He completed his degree in 2014, graduating Cum Laude with a B.S. in Political Science and a paralegal concentration.

The VA claims system is designed by people who have never had to use it. James walks veterans through every step, from the initial claim to the appeal.

Originally born on an Army base in New Mexico, James now calls Kentucky home.
