Dr. Jeff Romer is Clinical Director of Personal Counseling Service in Indiana. Dr. Jeff has training in divinity studies, marriage and family counseling and has a second doctorate in psychoanalysis. At the PCS clinic the counseling is based on self-psychology and has a spiritual dimension to it.
The clinic is based in southern Indiana, serving over 14 thousand people. Nearly 50 percent of the clients are below federal poverty levels and about 60 percent are young people. There are also satellite offices, including one in the Floyd County Jail.
Dr. Jeff appreciates it when someone says, “There’s no such thing as mental health. It’s just health.” So, the conversation in this episode addresses an important aspect of health.
