Kevin Bateman started in the army in the early 70s and then entered the National Guard until 2011. He retired as an Operation Sergeant Major and served in Iraq.
As a Veteran Service Officer, Kevin’s goal is to serve veterans and their families with everything from plans for compensation, pension, tax, property tax and whatever else he can help with. Since turning 70, he now works part time and has a great assistant to work with him.
He encourages every veteran to come in for an interview and find out what benefits they may qualify for.
Highlights of our conversation include:
An explanation and the process for getting a needs-based pension.
A frequent common illness is hearing loss.
The key is to get a diagnosis for an illness.
Serving others outside of Washington County.
Different service organizations also help veterans.
Being in combat is not a requirement for getting help.
